SMiRT 29
The second meeting of the Board and Advisory for the current biennium was held in Lyon January 23rd and 24th to meet with the SMiRT 29 local organisers and examine the location and progress in person.
The board were extremely favourably impressed by the location and quality of the superb conference venue. Excellent progress is being made by the local organisers and details regarding abstract and paper submission timescales and registration will be announced shortly – keep an eye on the SMiRT 29 website for full details.
Additional business included disbursement of the travel awards to the ten qualifying student delegates. Look out for the eligibility requirements and application procedure in future SMiRT 29 announcements.
Conference Divisions
Among the many details being developed by the SMiRT 29 team is a revision to the conference Divisions. There is no change to the comprehensive scope of SMiRT, which continues to cover all aspects relevant to structural integrity of nuclear related facilities. However, in order to facilitate conference organisation, some adjustments have been made to the scope of individual divisions. A summary of the new Divisions is given below.
