Evelyne Foerster is currently Research Project Manager and Senior Fellow Expert at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Her main research interests are focused on the development of modelling strategies and computational tools for external hazards and multi-risk assessment in various contexts. She has been contributing and coordinating several national and European research projects. She was awarded the “Stars of Europe” Trophy (Innovation mention, a prize awarded by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, for the coordination of the European EURATOM NARSIS project, related to the Probabilistic Safety Assessment of nuclear sites in case of single, cascade and/or combined external natural and extreme events. She was formely Deputy Director of the Risk and Prevention Division at the French Geological Survey (BRGM) and the Head of the Seismic Mechanics Study Laboratory (EMSI Lab) within the Energy Division at CEA Paris-Saclay. She was also Director of the French SEISM Institute at the Paris-Saclay University. She has been a member of the Scientific Committees for various national and international conferences. She has also been a member and/or chair of various scientific evaluation boards at the French National Research Agency (ANR) since 2010, for various research programmes such as natural risks and societal challenges, crisis management, resilience of systems and critical infrastructure, High-performance computing, global Security and cybersecurity… She is also expert evaluator for the European Commission since 2019 and member of the Scientific Board for the French Institute for Industrial and Environmental Risk Management (INERIS) since 2018.
